Thirteen events were on the July calendar, and the feed stayed busy between them. Of the 326 comments residents posted, 179 were new posts and 147 were replies, so most questions got an answer from a neighbor.
July is a heavy moving month here, and it showed: a steady run of free furniture, kitchen gear, plants and packing supplies.
The trivia outing at Courthaus Social, 2300 Clarendon Blvd, had 8 RSVPs, and the group walk over from the lobby turned a bar night into an easy way to meet neighbors.
Two fitness events followed. Orangetheory Rosslyn/Courthouse hosted a resident open house with a private in-studio class on July 18, drawing 7 RSVPs. The annual Pool Volleyball game on July 19 drew 6 RSVPs, and two days earlier a resident asked in Building Chat to borrow a volleyball for it.
Recurring events carried the rest of the month. The weekly yoga series met four Monday evenings in the courtyard, moving to the spin room in bad weather, capped at 18 people per session. Wednesday Night Game Night, run by the resident Board Games Group, posted 6, 7 and 5 RSVPs across its three dates. Both use spaces on our amenity list.
A month long tuna collection for Move For Hunger took bags at the Concierge Desk, and July's Pet of the Month was a three year old terrier mix rescued as a puppy from the streets of Mexico.
One resident offered a couch for free and explained they had gotten it free on Cobu in the first place, so giving it back to the community made sense. Another cleared out a spice shelf and handed off Za'atar, pomegranate molasses and poppy seeds. July also brought a free lasagna, a free longboard and helmet, and repeated rounds of free moving boxes.
Borrowing was the other constant. Residents asked to borrow a cooler, a hammer, computer monitors, a moving dolly and a volleyball, and neighbors answered each one. One resident spotted a car with its ceiling light left on and posted about it, which earned an all caps thank you.
A resident leaving town asked if someone could check on their cats, and four neighbors replied within six minutes. A weekend fish feeding request got three offers.
There are 23 resident groups here. The largest are Marketplace at 810 members and the Pet Sitting Co-op at 164, followed by the Foodie Group at 148, the Board Games Group at 126, the Yoga Group at 121 and Book Club! at 119.

Two Arlington spots came up through July events: Courthaus Social at 2300 Clarendon Blvd for trivia, and Orangetheory Rosslyn/Courthouse at 1776 Wilson Blvd, which opened a private class to residents. One neighbor also asked where to donate canned goods, and another pointed to a homeless shelter a short walk away, calling the staff very nice.
